Monitor Problems

I've had my Dell N5050 for only 4 months (since March 2012.)  It was operating fine earlier today and then,  suddenly, fine vertical lines appeared on the monitor screen.  They appear to be moving/flickering.  I tried moving the laptop to another location, but the problem persists.  I tried disconnecting the power cord and charger from the computer and reconnecting, but the problem persists.  What can I do to resolve this issue?

Hello cugagcmu80,

I am from Dell Social Media and Community.

You cab try connecting your system to an external monitor to verify if the issue is with the LCD screen or the graphics card.

Or follow the link below to run a hardware test and verify if the lines are seen on the LCD screen test.

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&docid=DSN_300428&isLegacy=true

All Dell systems ship with 1 year limited warranty, you can contact the technical support and let them know the test results and I am sure your issue will be resolved.

Let me know if you need any further assistance. I will be glad to help you.
