Dell Inspiron M5040

my laptop keeps bringing up different screens the mouse pad won't work but keyboard does..It has different colored lines that appear and then it flashes one solid color at a time and beeps. Nothing I try will do anything...what could be wrong?

Refer to this link http://dell.to/1zA1Zcr and run hardware diagnostics. If the test passes, check for the performance in safe mode. If the laptop is working fine in safe mode, I would recommend you to create a new user profile and test if the system works fine without any issues. You may get back with results and I'll be glad to assist you.
