What Goes Into The Salt Aid Dispenser?
I cannot ffind the answer in my manual. Just installed 18 inch danby under the counter machine. No clue what salt aid is. What should I put in here? Thanks

Page 4 of the Owner's Use and Care Guide ( a PDF download) adequately explains how to load, water softening salt. Note "loading the salt into the softener", so you place a funnel that came with the dishwasher into the salt container after you have unscrewed and removed the cap. Also note "adjusting the consumption", so you adjust the ring on the container to allow whatever amount of salt needed for your home's water hardness. But, I believe what you need to know is what brand of water softening salt do you buy. The three brands are Bosch, Miele, and Siemens. Miele comes in a 1.5 kg (3 lbs.) box and is much cheaper than Bosch; about 1/3 of the Bosch (Sears) price. I paid $8.46, taxes in, for Miele compared to the Bosch of $24.85, taxes in, and both are the weight. Miele salt results in a 32 cents cost per load, or about $10.00 per month.
