Park the mower on a level surface and engage the parking brake. This will help to prevent the mower from rolling while you're working on it.
Locate the front gauge wheel assemblies. They are located on either side of the front axle, just below the mower deck.
Loosen the lock nuts on the gauge wheel axles. You will need a socket wrench to do this.
Remove the gauge wheels from the axles. You may need to pry them off gently with a flat-head screwdriver.
Once the gauge wheels are removed, you can clean and inspect them for any damage. If they are damaged, you will need to replace them.
Reinstall the gauge wheels in reverse order. Make sure to tighten the lock nuts securely.
Here are some additional tips:
If the gauge wheels are stuck, you can try spraying them with WD-40 or a similar lubricant.
Be careful not to overtighten the lock nuts, as this could damage the threads on the axles.
If you are not comfortable removing the gauge wheels yourself, you can take the mower to a qualified repair shop.
