Why Wont My Phone Work?

l have had a sprit phone for some time now, l noticed it wont work when lm calling out or when people are calling in, so l went and bought a new one thinking l wore the old one out! the new one doesnt work either! the person l bought it from had said they are working on the tower in our area! lm so upset, so now what do l do??
