i changed my phone number online and now its not letting me send text messages or make phone calls.

You may need to wait a while for the new phone number to take effect. You may also want to try rebooting and/or taking the battery out for a minute and putting it back in then restarting and see if that helps. Re-activate your phone if necessary, and as a last result contact customer service with the problem.
