turns on initially displays "Cricket"...and the only thing I can do is press n hold power button and starts the initial display of cricket again...

Corrupt cache or system files. Pull out the battery to force shutdown > Press and hold the Power button and the Volume up button at the same time until the ZTE/Chricket logo appears - if you do get the Android system recovery menu, use the Volume keys to navigate a select wipe cache partition and confirm with the power button (or any other button that will work). The go for the reboot now option and see if you phone goes past the Cricket logo screen. If not, access the Recovery menu again and from there choose the "Wipe data/factory reset' option and go that route to fully reset your ZTE Prelude 2. Chance are, the latter will correct your issue.
