How To Stop Fraudulent Use Of E-mail

I got a MAILER-DAEMON saying that an e-mail was not able to be delivered. It was a personal ad on Craigslist. The e-mail belongs to my Mother who passed over 3 years ago. It is attached to my account as a sub account. I don't know how it is being used but I know it is a fraudulent ad. It starts like this: From: "Rosetta Harms" <[email protected]>To: <[email protected]>Subject: Re: hey lover.... - w4m - 21 (West Valley)Date: Wed, 31 Aug 2011 12:11:54 -0700 My Mother's last name is not Harms. The ed on the end of the e-mail is her middle and last name. How do I make sure this ad is discontinued.

I'm sorry, there is no solution to your problem. What you detail happens every day, every second on the internet. Unfortunately, once data gets out there, whether it's a photo, text blurb or email address, it's out there. Nothing can be done about that.

You could remove your mother's address as a sub-account to yours, but that will not stop the fraudulent use of her email address.
