Trouble Shooting Locked Up Sears Lt1500 Mower

Sears LT1500 lawn mower-Motor starts and runs fine until either the blade is engaged or the machine is put in gear and the clutch released. Then it immediately stops. All was fine when parked after mowing 10 days ago. Any suggestions?
