Tap the socket on a hard surface (like a concrete driveway), first on one side, then the other. If that doesn't loosen it up so you can pull it off, try wedging a screwdriver between the back end of the socket and the ratchet head. If you have a vice, put the socket in the vice and wedge the screwdriver between the socket and ratchet head and tap with a hammer. Be careful not to put too much force on the socket in the vice or it will distort the socket.
