How I Find If My Costco Memebership Card Was Expired? My Number Is

The Costco membership card itself has no printed expiration date because they use a backdating system during the "grace period" and because at one time it also allowed Costco to kind of disallow a temporary decision to drop membership on the part of the cardholder.

You should call your local Costco Warehouse or stop at the Customer Service desk the next time you are in the store. They will scan your card and tell you what the expiration date is/was.

You would think that you could also do this from the Costco website through My Account after you log in but the information is not there.

You can probably find it if you renew your membership online. Go to the Costco home page and select Renew Membership from the tab at the top of the page. You will still not see the expiration date until you actually commit to purchase, so this might be a frustrating way to proceed.

So call Costco main customer service for membership at 800-774-2678 or call your local warehouse which can be located by entering your zip code at the linked page and inquire.  Have your membership number at the ready.

Note that Costco has had a wonky expiration date policy. Theoretically if you renew within 2 months after the expiration date (which does not appear on your card because the card keeps rolling over with each on-time renewal) your renewal date stays the same. 

Several years ago you could end up paying for many expired months and still have the same renewal date. There was a class action suit involving this practice and now it is claimed that a fully expired (more than 2 months) card will have a new expiration date.

Call the 800 number listed on the back of your phone. You will be promoted to enter your card number and it will state whether or not your card is expired
