Hi, Wiless Broadcom Adaptor Is Not Conecting To The Internet. Compac Pres V6000

My wiless broadcom adaptor is not connecting to the internet. i have a compac presario v6000 how can i fix this?

Check the user manual(s). There is one specifically for the wireless option: http://www.helpowl.com/manuals/Compaq/PresarioV6500/65334

Things to check:

Is wireless enabled? There is a switch to turn it on/off.

Are you in range of an access point?

Is the wifi card installed?

Do you have the proper security settings and pass-phrase?

Are there any errors in the Windows event logs? They are located in the administrative tools in control panel under Event Viewer.

Is the Internet connection working on the other end of the access point?

Any of these could be the issue. You'll need to do some detective work or have a tech look it over.
