Why Is My Wi-fi Not Working Well?

WiFi used to work very well but lately its been very slow. I've been unable log on with my tablet for a week now. What can be done to fix this?

If the problem is with your Comcast internet connection itself, the issue could be one of several things: most likely either your modem/router or a problem with the line/equipment outside your house.

Reboot your router (disconnect the power cable, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in) and see if you notice any difference in speed/connection. (Speedtest.net offers a good speed if you want to see how your connection performs.)

If you don't notice any improvement, contact Comcast support for help. They can often diagnose and resolve issues remotely, and if not they can send out a technician. You can call Comcast at 800-934-6489, or chat with a customer service rep online. You can also reach out to Comcast support on Twitter at @ComcastCares.

Aside from an issue with your Comcast service or router, the problem could be something else:

- Your tablet. If that's the only device having the problem, try connecting it to a different Wi-Fi network and see if it performs better.
- Your home/office Wi-Fi network. If you've recently moved anything around or gotten a new device or appliance, something could be interfering with your Wi-Fi signal. Try either moving your router to a more central location, or adding an inexpensive repeater to your network.
