Dish Network Setup

hi i won this tv at a raffle now im trying to set it up but i hav to get to a different channel and it wont let me go from channel 12.1 to 3 or at least let me scan all of them i belive i hav set it up right but all i did is plug the main cable to the tv ( the one that screws in) idk if i need more or now case i can go get some but first of all i need to get to my channels an idk but it skips from audio right to setting please help me
