18 Inch Tires On A 2014 Impala 2ltz

The stock wheels and low profile (no sidewall) tires , give a very harsh ride. I am looking to replace them with 245/50r18 tires for a smoother ride. the dealer says it is expensive and it won't change te ride. Please advise. Thanks
