Warranty Reimbursment

Heater on my daughter's 2013 Cruze began blowing cold air when idling and would warm up when accelerating. Assuming it was some sort of heater problem, I took it to my local independent garage for repairs. After work had begun, it was determined that the water pump and thermostat were defective and needed to be replaced. Since I already owed them for work up to that point, I authorized them to finish the job and replace the water pump and thermostat. I later learned that these were part of the power train system with a 5 year or 100,000 mile warranty. My daughter's vehicle fell within these guidelines having 90,892 miles and a 5 year expiration date of February 8, 2018. Can I be reimbursed by Chevrolet or GM for these expenses?

You cannot. (Sorry.) Chevrolet says [bad grammar notwithstanding]:

Performance of repairs and needed adjustments is the exclusive remedy under this written warranty or any implied warranty.
