Timing, Distributor R&r On A 1996 7.4chevy 454

Hello I Have a 1996 suburban 2500 4x4 with a 7.4 128K on vehicle  Recently I put  a  Reman long block OE Replacement motor in When I find tdc put the dist in it will not fire This is the change over year to a new cap coil and plentum also has crank sensour for 15 to 20 times when checked again even with lightIt is never at tdc. even using a timing light and never 180 out either It think the computer is telling it where to find tdc from last running time not the same ol dist cap GM had for years Is There a way to set this all in harmony at tdc or ?? PLEASE HELP
