Freon Used In 93 Cavalier?

Is R12 the freon required for 93 Cavalier? or 134a it has not been converted so I don't know if I should buy the converter kit or put some R12 in it if I can find some

You are in the time frame when the change over to 134a was happening. I checked the manual & it does not list the type of refrigerant your model uses. Logic tells me they didn't mention it because it was using the r12 system but I can't be sure. I suggest you take it to a local shop & ask them what system your vehicle is using. At this point Unless you already have some r12 in hand I don't think the public can buy it, so that's your delimma. I had the coversion to 134a done on my 1987 S10, it didn't keep the charge for even a year. I ended up putting a new compressor in it to solve the problem.

THERE SHOULD BE A LABEL INDICATING WHAT REFRIGERANT CHARGE CAME IN IT FROM THE FACTORY.
