2. Click the Start menu icon in the bottom right corner, then click “Computer” .
3. Right click on the SD card drive under the heading “Computer”.
4. Select the filesystem format type. There are three choices FAT, FAT 32, exFAT and NTFS. FAT is the default choice since it the accepted type of formatting for most digital cameras and other portable devices. FAT32 is a newer File Allocation table formatting that allows up to 2 TB in one partition using 16 kb clusters. NTFS is New Technology File System. It has improved metadata coding and much larger potential partition space. The maximum generally accepted value for partition space on NTFS is 2 TB although the theoretical maximum is 16 EiB. The exFAT formatting or extended FAT is set up to eventually replace FAT32.
5. Click Start to begin formatting your SD card. **Warning any data that is currently on the SD card will be erased when the card is formatted.
