Pixma Mx 892 Printer Is In A State Of Error Windows 8

new printer worked on old computrt vista os new note book windows 8 will not print only error message states in a state of error

The incorrect printer drive may have been installed onto your notebook.

You may want to try to resolve this by performing the following steps:

Turn the printer off and disconnect it from notebook.
Uninstall the printer software/driver from your notebook and reboot when complete.
Go to the following link to download the correct Windows 8 driver (32 or 64 bit) http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/printers_multifunction/office_all_in_one_inkjet_printers/pixma_mx892#DriversAndSoftware NOTE: Your printer should still be off and disconnected at this point.
Follow the steps on your notebook screen to install the printer driver.
Only connect the printer and power it on when you reach the step to do so.
Continue following the prompts to completion

You should be able to print a test page now
