Installation Failure

i inserted my cd into my mac computer and started the install but it got stopped and says the mp drivers could not be installed. what is going on?

I would suggest you to delete the drivers which have been installed, to delete please follow the below mentioned steps:

Before deleting a printer driver, disconnect the cable that connects the printer to the computer. The procedure to delete the unnecessary printer driver is as follows. Printer driver cannot be deleted unless you login as a user with the administrative right. On an administrative user, refer to the Macintosh manuals. When you delete the printer driver in this way, all the printer drivers for Canon printers, which are installed on your computer, are deleted. You cannot select and delete the printer driver of a specific model.

If you are using Mac OS X v.10.6.x or Mac OS X v.10.5.x

1. Open System Preferences, and select Print & Fax.

2. from the printer list, select the registered Canon IJ printers and click "-".

If you are using Mac OS X v.10.4.11

1. Select the icon of the hard disk where the printer driver has been installed. Then, click [Applications] folder -> [Utilities] folder to launch Printer Setup Utility.

2. From the printer list, select the registered Canon IJ printers and click Delete.

Restart your system after that and install the drivers from the below mentioned link. Please select correct operating system installed before you start installation:
