Based on my online research, you can fix the Error 5100 of your Canon PIXMA MX512 printer by following the solutions provided below.
- Clear debris from carriage head
- Lubricate the purge cap
- Remove Paper Jammed
- Set the ink cartridges properly
- Clean the Timing film
