Scanned Doc To A Fax

I scanned a document using my Canon MX430 to my computer. Now, how do i send the scanned document as a fax using the MX430 directly from my computer? Tx A.S

To connect it properly, you must first (*if* you have a DSL or ADSL line service) place a DSL Filter between the phone line and your Canonfax, to remove the disturbing high frequencies as far as the fax is concerned.
Then you must have the phone line connected to the 'LINE' or 'L' jack, not to the one with a phone-handset logo or the legend 'PHONE' or 'P' next to it - that jack is for the extension phone or similar device on the same line.

The Canon machine must be in Fax Mode. Then you put the page into the scanner, then you dial the number. When the other end answers the fax call (by making beep tones in response, known as 'initial handshaking'), then you press START (on the Canon machine) to start sending the fax. The procedure may vary slightly in detail, but that's it in general.
