Erasure Prevention

I have a Canon FS100 and when I want to take a photo, it comes with a message that the erasure prevetion is on? What causes this and how can I get it off? I have tried to delete the photos from the card, no luck? Thank you

You need to remove the memory card and flip a switch on the side of the card. You must have flipped it by mistake when inserting it into the camera.
