1995 Buick Roadmaster Limited

why dont my car want to start i mean it starts when it wants to but i have to give it a jump i just got a battery it still does it and when im driveing it and i slow down it dies and then i have problems again it acts like the batterys dead or sometimes it acts like its not getting gas my boyfriend put a transmission to and it went to a eather 89 or a little later or earlyer it came out of a surban scott dale WHAT COULD IT BE DOING THIS?
