How Can I Loosen The Needle Screw Safely, In Order To Change The Needle?

I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO CHANGE THE NEEDLE DUE TO A NEEDLE SCREW THAT IS TOO TIGHT.  I CANNOT GET IT TO MOVE EITHER WAY.
