Samsung Prevail

My phone the last couple of days has been showing my battery icon as fully charged...all day long! The battery icon is not moving down as the phone is being used or just being on.   I am not sure why this isn't working... does anyone have any ideas?

First turn your phone off take the battery out and wait 30 sec then turn the phone back on if this still does not work please contact customer care at Phone: 888-266-7848 How to reach a live person: Wait for the message to go to English
Press 5
Press 2
Press 4
Wait through all of the menu options, and then a few seconds longer until prompted to talk to a rep
Press 0
Press 2 Hours of Operation: 4am PST – 11pm PST
