Whatever the situation, DO NOT TERMINATE YOUR EXISTING SERVICE until your phone number has been successfully ported to your new servicer. And by successful, I mean until someone can call you at your old number and your new phone will ring.
Boost Mobile has instruction for porting in but porting out instructions will be found at your new servicers website or by calling their customer service number. The two carriers will then work with each other while you follow the instructions of the new carrier.
