The only way to have a phone activated through Boost Mobile would be to by a Boost Mobile phone. You can not buy a phone that is supportced specifically for only verizon, AT&T, etc. Just like you cant use the iphone on the verizon network. There are ways around some of this due to unlocked or open phones, but it is not recommended to do because companies can sometimes suspend your service if it is their contract (depending on the phone type). Since Boost Mobile is a prepaid service, and yes you could buy them from another store, if they are selling the phone they can activate it their for you themselves. So long story short, yes you can buy a boost mobile phone from anywhere you want and have it activated anywhere, but you can not buy a different supported wireless companies phone and bring it to Boost.
