How Long Is Too Long To Run My Vacuum With Out Turning Off.. Will It Get Hot?

If the vacuum is running for extended amounts of time say 40 min is this bad for the motor or anything else on the vacuum. This is assuming there is no obstructions and not full or in need of emptying canister.
