Preferences & News Feed?

Preferences revert to default, no way to turn off news feed, Would like to select a particular photo for duration of the set offered each week, not as wallpaper. Love the photography and concept Bing offers but will revert to google if preferences aren't stable and news feed is non-negociable. Thank you
