Yarn Tension

I have a new Bernette 25, which I used only a few times. Today, I was sewing with it and it was working properly. From one moment to another, the yarn tension reduced on its own (without me changing the tension, in fact it remained always at the basic adjustment nr 4). Consequently, my work started to look really bad. I then re-adjusted the tension from 0 to 9, but it had no affect as my sewing as it remained incorrect.  The problem lied more in the lower thread as it mixed up with the upper thread and came one on top of the textil. What should i do? To be honest, this problem occurred after I changed the yarn. However, I have changed the yarn many times before, and I don’t believe I did something wrong.
