I'm my car the radio gets really hot when I'm playing it why?

There are any number of possible answers to this question but you haven't really given us any information to work with. What brand, who installed it, etc.
In general these are some things that can cause this:
- The radio is mounted near the heater core or vent
- There is an impedance mismatch. i.e. your speakers are 2 Ohm and the output of the amp is 8 Ohm.
- The output uses floating connections (no common ground) and you have tied one to the car body, or vise-verse.
