Wireless Internet Access

Dear Sir my Asus U80V Laptop has been unable to get online Wirelessly but the Cable Access is OK. I press the Fn key + F2  It is not functioning, what else may go wrong.....Will it be the Hareware, the Wireless modern inside the Laptop that has gone faulty?   Regards   Andrew Lam

Could be any number of issues.  Are you sure that the wireless is really running?  Checking it depends on the version of Windows but typically you can open the network properties in COntrol Panel and see whats what.

I would suggest that you don't connect both the wireless and the hardline at the same time.  Your PC needs one default gateway or routing issues can occur.  If you connect with both you can wind up with 2 gateways.

One way to text the wireless is with a wifi scanner.  There are many out there, and many are free.

This will let you see if the wireless is picking anyone else up.  A clear indication that its working.

For more help you'll need to leave the Windows version you have.

Since you don't mention the OS you're using then I suggest going hear to make sure you have all drivers updated.
