Using With Hdtv.

Is it possible to plug this device (asus bw-12d1s-u) directly to HDTV USB port? Will 3D picture and 5.1 dts/DolbyD. sound be available? Or is it necessary to have a computer with specified OS to use it?

Since you didn't give the tv make & model this will be a general. Most usb ports on tv's are for software or firmware updates.

No, you need a compatible computer (See the system requirements below). Yes it is compatible with 3D Blu-Rays and 5.1 surround sound.

System Requirements:

OS: Windows® 7, Windows® Vista, Windows® XP, Windows® Server 2003, or Windows® Server 2008

CPU: Intel Pentium® D 945(3.4GHz) or higher
RAM:1GB or more is recommended
Graphics Card: NVIDIA® GeForce 7600 GT or ATI X1600 series or above

Use HDCP Compatible display and VGA card to High Definition digital output
