Asko D3120 Drain Pan Fills Up With Every Wash Cycle

My ASKO D3120 dishwasher is not working properly anymore. It makes a sound even though the power is switched off. The pump tries to drain water and there is a splashing noise, but no water in the dishwasher. None of the control lights are lit. Even when I open the door, the pump keeps working. The only way to stop it is by turning the power off at the power socket. I suspect the overflow switch has tripped, so I was removed the water from the dain pan, but after only 1 wash cycle the drain pan is full again and the overflow switch tripps , stopping the machine from working properly again
