Refund For Flight That Was Missed.

I missed my flight because I thought it was Tuesday 12:20 am when in acutality it was Mon. 12:20 am. I thought it to be a Tuesday nite red eye. The flight to New York from LA was roundtrip. I was so upset when I arrived and realized my mistake and that I might not get home for Thanksgiving that I didn't use the return reservation because I thought it would be automatically cancelled. Will I be able to get a refund?
