Email For Ticket Purchase I Did Not Make.

I received an email stating an order # is a purchase for an American Airline ticket that was made via CC payment.  It says to Download It.  I did not purchase a ticket and don't know if this is a spam email or legit and I need to follow up with my credit card companies.

You kind of answered your own question.  Yes, you need to follow up with your bank & credit card company.  You also should call the airline to report the email and verify whether or not a ticket was purchased.

The public is receiving tons of these emails disguising themselves as airlines.  They are NOT.  It is a hoax, spam, phishing or whatever you want to call it but definitely DO NOT download anything and don't open it either.  Wait to speak with the airline and your credit card company and if nothing was purchased, delete the email as spam.
