Aol 9.7 Not Accessing Quarter Of My Favorites List?

I have upgrade to aol 9.7 from 9.6, The set up un -installed the 9.6 version and saved my emails & Favorites etc. Then it installed 9.7 broadband version! But after I had used the aol desktop 9.7 broadband for a week, I found that I no longer could access about a quarter of my most used favorites list? either they would not load their main pages and I would get a error screen saying can't find the website address? Or even if the main page of the favorite did load up like say ebay.co.uk I could not sign in to my accound as when I chick on the link that error screen would come up again? I tried everything I can to sort it out by setting the IE8 and the aol privacy settings etc. to low to medium and getting the aol to except all cookies and even typing into the trusted sites box the websites I can't seem to access? Nothing Helps? Please help me.
