I Am Being Charged For Aol Checkup. Not Getting Service??? Cancel With Card?

Just noticed on card statement that I am being charged for AOL CHECK UP. However cannot access the service. Guess I need to cancel charge with the card company. ????

You should be able to cancel any future charges through the financial instituion that issues your checking / credit card. However, getting your money back depends on a couple of details:

When you put your card on file you created what is called a recurring contract for a card not present charge. So you have the option of opening a dispute with your bank, at which point a charge back will be completed and AOL will have the option of responding. So what it boils down to is why you can't access your service and whether or not you reported an issue. If you authorized the charge and the outage has not been reported, there is a high probability that AOL's billing department would file a counter-dispute and win; if you reported the challenge and it has not been resolved then your bank may choose to instead honor the chargeback.

I would reccomend calling AOL and working with them first before disputing a charge. Hope this helps.
