How Long Is The Average Regular Wash Cycle?

It seems to run an hour.  IS this normal?

Yes, according to the manual the standard running time is longer than older machines.  It's more in the 55-60 minute catagory.  My old one only took about 40 minutes, so I was a little surprised.  It has to do with settling and balancing the clothes between wash phases... which is a good thing.  It does a good job on getting the clothes washed and rinsed.
