Acer Aspire Z5761 Black Screen

Hi, Please help I have a Aspire Z5761 Desktop computer in which the screen has recently started going black, seem to just shutdown, blue on light stays on but the blue bar light goes out and I am unable to start it. I end up turning it off the it takes  20 to 30 goes before it will start up and show a screen.  I am using it at present. there are no other issues however it will just turn black at anytime, Please advise  - My wife also has one and hers has also started doing a similar thing. They are both still covered under the warranty. From a google search it appears this is an ACER problem with this model

This has happened to mine a number of times.

First time, it was under warranty. It went back to Acer where they reset it to factory default (losing everything) and claimed 'no fault found'. Not helpful at all.

The problem is that the internal HDMI connection at the graphics card seems to fail, but unplugging and re-plugging seems to re-connect. When I did mine, I took out the graphics card and RAM and re-inserted them. But I think the actual problem is just the HDMI connection.

You'll need to remove the back of the case - not an easy task, but info is available on Google.

At this point, if you are not getting any video showing up with an all-in-one PC, opening up the computer will be necessary. If that is not something you can handle, then you will need to bring it to a specialist. A local repair shop is usually the better option for fair and reasonable pricing compared to chain stores like Best Buy. If you have a warranty, then use it instead. It never hurts to call Acer and ask them questions, since there is usually a manufacturers warranty included with purchase.

If you do know know the insides of a computer, then the RAM or video card would be the target components to check out.

Your data does not have to be lost. If you do end getting repairs done, ask them if they will be changing anything important on the hard drive. And if they do, ask them to transfer your wanted files to a external hard drive. This service, if necessary, will cost extra. In the future, backing up your files is always a great idea and it could save you money, time, and stress. An external hard drive is what you would use and will cost you about $60 (for a basic one) and will be worth it in the long run.
