Acer Aspire 5515
has this machine been subject to a recall. it gets hot and shuts off.

Your computer may have a loose fan particularly the processor's fan. The processor or CPU has its own self protecting feature which make your computer shutdown to avoid burning or hardware failure. The best thing you have to do is to ask a computer technician and let him check your computer.
