Acer Overheating & Going Off

Versters gives good advice- to se how much you need to dismantle it to get to the fan, if you felt you are capable, look at the manual, as sometimes to shut off that quickly there can be a wad of fluff, and hair (especially if you have cats) surprising how this can block it up. the only way  to remove it is to dismantle as far as the fan, and remove the fan, if an air cannister will not solve it. It is really a job for a repairer, as I said, unles you feel capable- you can see an exploded view of your laptopon page 110 of the service manual. The fan can usually be cleaned with aan air can, and a soft paintbrushh. The air can can blow out the fins of the fan filter from the inside, then, too.

If attempting to dismantle the laptop, remove the power cable, remove the battery, and as an you need to keep out static electricity, a simple solution is to work on the laptop with thin rubber gloves on (like surgical gloves)

This Acer is already 2 about years old. Check the following: If you switch on the laptop and listen at the side vents, do you hear the fan running? If not take it in for repair. A running fan that is very noisy are also in need of replacement as it does not turn at full speed. If you hear the fan, check the following: Are you placing your device on a soft cloth on the desk or maybe using it on your lap? This can hamper airflow for the CPU fan and cause it to overheat. Use your device on a hard level surface for best performance. Lastly, if the device is being used in frequent dusty environments the air fins around the CPU gets clogged up. Use a medium pressure blower and blow the dust out through the vents on the side and below. A high pressure blower can damage you fan so be carefull.
