Why Is A&f So Expensive?

I'm just wondering what makes Abercrombie SO expensive. It seems like their quality is average....is it the name that makes it so expensive? It can be more costly than DESIGNER stuff! What gives?

Amercrombie and Fitch knows that the demand for their clothing is through the roof and there are tons of people who will pay a lot of money to get their stuff. Plus, for a lot of people $50 for a polo and $70 for jeans isnt all that expensive. Their stuff is targeted at upper middle class teens and young adults who think that they're clothing is cool. That's why i prefer their sister brand Hollister which is far more affordable.

As the other poster said its a matter of supply and demand.

What makes it expensive is advertizing, marketing, etc. The cost to manufacture most clothing is nothing compared to the rent, the security, shrinkage due to theft, marketing, advertizements, studies to poll the market etc.

The expense is a result of the Brand Name. Customers paying top dollar to have their clothes say A&F thresend result is the quality is average. People are naturally vain and will spend money to fit in with socitiey
