Money Owed

I recieved a letter informing me that my husband was due some money 284.64. My husband is deceased. Can  a check be issued in my name? Julie Fisher

I believe you cannot. If the bank is not under your name you cannot use it because if his name is on the check then no you cannot because it would be forgery.
