Active head restraints When the occupant's back presses against the seatback during a rear-end collision, the head restraint moves slightly forward to help reduce the risk of whiplash on the seat occupant. 41 Adjustable components (seats, mirrors, steering wheel) STEP 2 Lower the head restraint and fix the seatback at the most upright lock position. 1 Before driving STEP 3 Pull up either seatback lock release knob beside the seatback and fold the seatback down.
