The high current fuse panel is located in the engine compartment near the battery. RWARNING Always disconnect the battery before servicing high current fuses. These, like fuses, open when the circuit load exceeds their amperage rating. Ford recommends that are circuit protectors that high current fuses be purchased from your Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer. High Current Fuses High current fuses are part of the wiring harness for some electrical equipment. High current fuses may be replaced by a qualified technician. 183

Using a fuse with one that has the right amperage rating. (See the following charts.) RWARNING Always replace a fuse with a higher amperage rating can cause severe wire damage and could start a fire. 4. Replace the fuse with one that has the specified amperage rating. Even after you do not find what caused the overload. Replace the lower steering column fuse panel cover. If the fuse continues to blow if you replace a fuse, it may continue to blow, have your electrical system checked. 187 3.
