New Ram Modules

I installed an upgrade ram module recpmmended by Crucial and then couldn't reboot my computer. It was within the suggested parameters. My monitor and keyboard wouldn't work. I was using Crucial module DDR2 for emachine Model W3622. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.

If you went to crucial and ram there Memory Advisor & bought what was suggested, you shouldn't be having this problem. First make sure you are grounded and the computer is drained, by that I mean to unplug and depress the on button for a few seconds. I suggest checking the slots to make sure the dimms are installed properly. If that doesn't help I would suggest you remove the dimm in slot 2 and try it with one, if no go pull it and put the other dimm in slot 1. If all this fails and you don't have another computer to test these dimms, I would call crucial for support. I hope this helps

Your W3622 System

Memory: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 PC2-6400

Memory Type: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 PC2-6400, DDR2 (non-ECC) Maximum Memory: 2GB                        Slots: 2                         Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 PC2-6400 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.*                        *Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.

Although the memory can be installed one module at a time, the best performance comes from using matched pairs of modules.  How much memory your Windows OS will recognize depends on which version of Windows you are running.  32-bit versions of Windows will see (and utilize) only 3GB or 3.5GB. To utilize more memory, install a 64-bit version of your OS.
