I Can't Get My El1850g To Burn A 'create Factory Default Disc'

I just bought my EL1850G computer today, running windows 7 home prem OA-64 bit. I am trying to burn the 'create factory default disc' and it keeps telling me "unsupported disc format". I'm trying to use a dual layer dvd+r 8.5 gb disc and I don't know if I'm suppose to format it myself, or if I'm using the wrong kind of disc, or etc. Please Help
